This months demo was turning Pens by Brian Geffre. Brian discussed the many styles of pens that can be turned. Here
he discusses the use of a mandrel and how it is used to hold the wood blanks for turning. With all of the components installed on the mandrel, Brian shows us the methods he uses to turn and finish to pen to completion. Brian feels that sanding to 2000 grit and beyond is critical to producing an exceptional pen. |
