The October meeting was brought to order by Ron Williams.  Vern Nolting discussed our decorating a tree for MeritCare Hospital's "Festival of Wreaths".  Gothard Knuteson "Knute" volunteered to be the individual to organize the ornament drive and decorate the tree.  The tree will be decorated on November 15th, 2006.  If you are interested in helping decorate the tree, contact Knute.

Dave Gausman started the Christmas tree ornament demo.  Here Dave begins to shape the globe, and here the globe is nearing the final outside shape.  Shortly after Dave began hollowing the globe, he had a catostrophic catch, and his portion of the demo came to an abrupt end! 

The ornament finials were turned by Jim McTavish. Here Jim begins to turn the finial down to near the finished size with a spindle roughing gouge.  Using a small spindle gouge, the ornament finial is shaped. 

Ocotober Show and Tell!

Here is an example of a birdhouse style ornament brought into show and tell.
