Toolday 2005

Toolday 2005 was a success!  We had orders totaling almost $4000 this year!  And we managed to get all the tools made!

Phil Holtan's handle turning crew was busy, they had 8 mini lathes going full time from 9:00 to 3:00, and turned over 130 wood handles!

The metalworking crew transformed over $1200 worth of raw steel into some very fine tools.

Here are some photos from the day...

Completed D-handles for our trapped hollowing system and toolrests

Here's a crew of guys cleaning and prepping the mini hollowing tools for final assembly

Completed (from left) end mill hollowers, sharpening jigs, hollowing handles, straight hollowing tools, and 3/8" square beading / parting tools.  At the far right are the aluminum jigs that will hold a laser pointer for a wall thickness gauge.

Todd Olson is behind the secondary toolrest for our trapped hollowing system.

In the forground in this picture, you can see our bent mini hollowing tools

Here's a closeup of a small portion of the mini hollowing tools we made.

Paul Hedman was our welder for the day, and he was very busy!

There was lots of drilling and tapping that had to be done.

Not everyone was there to pick up their completed tools.  Here's what was brought to the next meeting .  This is only about 1/4 of the tools that were made!
