Phil Holtan talked to us about the different kinds of wood to turn.  The discussion included:

• types of burls and how best to use them,
• spalted wood,
• crotch wood,
• birdpeck wood,
• curly grain,

and different species of wood and how they work best.

Phil brought in examples of his work.  Here are some photos:
